This match started off in unusual fashion due to the XBL trouble we had in the beginning. Starting the first game up everything seemed fine, but about halfway into it the team leaders, Night Rider and Sharp, both appeared to lag out of the game. So, both teams stopped and re-gathered the teams to try again. One more time we had trouble, when Bart failed to load into the game as the rest of the teams did, confused the game was again stopped. Very frustrated at this point, we stopped, reset numerous connections and restarted the party with a fresh host. The resets and new host did the trick and both teams loaded up ready to roll.
Clearly the game the 2old2play boys were most prepared for, immediately grenading our approach routes and taking the high ground in pairs. The Winged Warriors started with mixed results at map control but soon had a stalemate with both teams trading position and kills back and forth.
Then the 2P2O team started striking with quick team kill sets, taking ground at Carbine High and Pink Middle. Constantly utilizing a man on top of Pink Room they turned out two controlled flag captures and appeared ready to sweep the round. But the Warriors, adapting to the Pink Room formula, began forcing out that player at every chance, slowing the team-kill pairs that kept sweeping up to high ground, and the light at the end of the tunnel shown brightly as they gathered up two flag captures to the oppositions third one.
Now with the score answerable at 2-3, the Warriors pushed forward towards a tie game and beyond, but the quick strikes began anew without the benefit of the Pink Room hawk of previous scores. And with cold efficiency 2P2O finished off with two quick scores.
They played the map the exact way we wanted to play it, and played it better. Easily, this game should be treated as an inspiration for how to play Midship, their level of control was tight and their pairs were strong. They all had 15+ assists a piece, a testament to their team kill abilities.

The Warriors had a strategy, they had a force, they even had spawn control. The Warriors got off to a slow start, but after a quick capture by the opposition they established strong map control. With 2P2O's lift unprotected, and holding Yellow and Blue Top, spawn controlled their base and forced the team kills. They pushed and pushed and pulled ahead 4-2 flag captures. The lead was indomitable, victory seemed assured.
Then out of nowhere they lost three flag captures and the lead disappeared in front of their eyes. It was a brutal state of confusion. Yet, assured that they were too close to lose, Pastemaster made a steal and pulled through teleporter, dying on the opposite side, though the flag remained unreturned. Bart, closest to the flag, grabbed it plowing up the ramp, hopefully, to victory. Night Rider taking point surged into the Warriors own base where he was met by odds to great and died. Bart hoping for the lucky score in the heat of confusion pushed into home base with the flag...
...and was met by three defenders. The valiant flag carrier was crushed in their palm as they returned their flag and swept the Warriors flag out of the base and into the unchangeable past of our defeat. So close yet so far.

Our game started out with mixed results. After the previous game on Warlock we were disappointed but we had hope. We now knew that we could beat these guys and that we just needed to play together to pull off the win and go into the next game with host advantage.
As soon as 2old2play picked up the oddball they fled to the tower that is home to the sniper rifle. The Winged Warriors recognized a pattern, they preferred to hold at the snipe tower and we preferred to hold the ball at the battle rifle tower. It almost played like a game of tug-o-war; anytime 2P2O grabbed the ball they would run to the snipe side, and when we took it back we would retreat to the battle rifle side.
At one point in the game the Winged Warriors had over a minute lead, but the perseverance of the 2old2play squad paid off. They were able to pull the ball back for the win, and essentially tying the knot on this clanmatch.

This is short, and unfortunately not sweet. The Warriors were out-slaying 2P2O on most encounters each game, only losing when faced with the organized team kills. So, without the spawn center of skirmish, 2P2O lacked the ability to know where the Warriors would be and the Warriors brutalized them.
Reaching a rather quick 18-9 lead within the first two or three minutes the Warriors seemed destined to prove their superiority in that game type. Then a crucial BR shot and sword lung both missed resulting in the loss of rockets and sword.
Realizing their only opportunity, the 2P2O squad gathered snipers on hardwood and team killed more effectively in roaming pairs. Soon, the score was 24-21, then quickly the game moved forward trading kills off an on until the score was roughly tied in the mid 40's. Realizing our need to protect and pick off, Pastemaster called out to regroup and stop hunting to protect against the lone Warriors getting picked off.
But it was too late, with a few lucky kills and a straggler or two spawning in bad places 2P2O wrung out the last drops of life allowed in the score and sealed away their fourth and final victory. The Warriors could out slay any opponent one-on-one, but fate and the double team had other plans in store.

This was a match we won't soon forget. Having a 2 point lead on warlock, over a minute lead on lockout, a nine point lead on Ivory Tower and losing all of them to the fantastic guys in the 2old2play professional squad wasn't what we had in mind. We were unable to salvage our reputation with a win in the fifth game because some of their players had to go to bed, but inspite of this fact, their team captain x 2o2p F1R3 x, has promised that we would be able to rematch and scrimmage them in the future. Both of our teams plan to attend tournaments together and we hope to sharpen each other's swords through practice against another serious and quality clan. It was a disappointment to be unable to play the fifth game but with the performance of the previous four games it's probably for the better. We look forward to our next chance to frag us some older gamers and hope next time we won't lose. Until then,

Dubbed as the older gamers paradise, 2old2play is large community designed for players over 25 who want to meet, play, compete and discuss games with their own peers. While the community is massive, their pro team is tight knit and dedicated. The team we went up against had some serious strategy and team play elements that most other teams are lacking. They were a great group of guys and maybe its just because we had them muted the whole time but we like them a lot.
