This clanmatch was one that was anticipated not only because of the extremely long time it took to schedule it, but also because of the reputation that proceeded the Praetoria Guard. Being known for a clan that utilizes great players and good team work, we knew we had a serious challenge.
At the beginning, we spawned at the battle rifle tower and immediately put it on lock down with our planned strategy. As the game progressed, our confidence increased as we perfectly countered every attack the fierce Praetoria Guard could dish out. However, late at the end of the game our control of the battle rifle tower was lost, but our confidence remained. With quick thinking, we regrouped at the sniper tower and with the sniper rifle won the game by a margin of 10 kills.
The game was a nail biter to the very end, but our team work, shown by our assists, sealed our victory.

The game began and we set out to take control of the map, however our plans were quickly interrupted by Praetoria Guard as they efficiently picked apart our rush. After our first failed attempt we set out to dominate the map with our pure slaying ability. This showed to be ineffective as they were able to suppress our ever present attack. This in turn allowed them to sneak in and capture the flag with ease. The rest of the game played out with Praetoria Guard making well executed, sneaky flag captures and us making flag captures through force and team kills. Near the end of the game the Praetoria Guard had a narrow lead with 4 flags to our 3. We knew it was time to fight back, however our plans were crushed after they made a well executed attack killing us all. This allowed them to make the capture and seal the victory.

This was one of two games where both teams were met with the strange lag dealt out by Xbox live.
The game began and we quickly set up our strategy and dug in to defend against the powerful Praetoria Guard attack. We quickly pulled out to a 29 -15 lead when everyone "red-barred" and the game was restarted at 29 - 23.
The new game began and we immediately went back to controlling the rocks, and Praetoria Guard went to work controlling the center. Kills were traded back and forth, but a well planned attack by Praetoria Guard crumbled our hold, and pushed us to control the base. Praetoria Guard was up 45-33 and we decided to shut them down and pull a clinch victory. However, Eisen Frei was able sneak behind our stone wall defense and slash his way through our team with the energy sword. This led to Praetoria Guard winning by a margin of 12 kills.

This is a gametype that we never played, let alone talked about before this night. The game began with us deterring the Praetoria Guard rush and allowing our bomb carrier to make his way in their base for the plant. Quickly after, they retaliated and through an efficient attack we were able to gain a point after planting the bomb. The game progressed and again we were able to easily infiltrate their base and take a 2-1 lead. The game turned into a stalemate as we traded kills and effectively neutralized each others attempts at arming the bomb. This however, quickly ended with a simultaneous arm by both teams. With our confidence from our lead we quickly rushed and extended the lead to 4-2. This seemed to fuel the Praetoria Guard attack as they quickly retaliated with two quick plants, tying the game at 4 a piece. Each team knew that the end was near, if we lost it would result in a loss for the entire clanmatch, and if Praetoria Guard lost the fifth and final game would be become the deciding tiebreaker. To the dismay of the Praetoria Guard, Pastemaster was able to infiltrate their base and with the distraction from the roof assassinate their only defender and seal the victory for us.

The game began with each team making a beeline for the power weapons, however we were able to take control of all of them. The fight then began to break out around every part of the map from the far reaches of the flag base to the distant top. However, after only each team had amassed 10 kills we had to restart due another "red-bar" esperience. Once we restarted the game quickly degraded into an all out brawl for the top. The battle roared on with each team trading control of the seemingly coveted top. We would always attack heavy from overshield side and Praetoria Guard did the exact opposite as they plowed in from shotgun side. Near the end of the game they dug in and effectively defeated our last attempts at taking a slight lead. This led to the Praetoria Guard winning by a margin of 6 kills, and gaining victory for the clanmatch.
After the game we were very disappointed in the fact that we lost because we relied more on our instincts rather than our strategy, and turned what could have been a easy victory into a hard fought and disheartening lost. However, this loss has shown us that improvements are needed if we are to effectively dominate the tower of Ivory.

"These games were neck and neck the entire time.
One of the closest matches I think PG has ever played."
- Leppak, Battle Coordinator, Praetoria Guard
As Leppak said these games were close. For us they were too close for comfort and too far away for us to seal a victory. When we rematch against the Praetoria Guard, and when we play against the Tied the Leader Gunslingers in our next clanmatch, we will be more prepared and ready to fight. Our opponents had better be ready.
