This clanmatch was one long in the works. After being unable to compete against the Gunslingers in clanmatch 05 anticipation began to build as we waited for our chance to play against the notorious killers from Tied the Leader. For the first time we are bringing you the clanmatch results from different perspectives for each game. Members of the Winged Warriors have written the game reviews for games one through four a Gunslinger by the name of AmericanNightmr has written the last game's description. Not only does AmericanNightmr give us his team's view point for game five, but he does it in style; holding close to the TTL tradition of excellence in writing. Enjoy!

The game began with us immediately setting out for rock solid control of the map. We succeeded and set out to dominate the Gunslinger base. Through strong two and three man attacks we were able to get the flag easily out of the base and with cover fire make three quick captures. The Gunslingers retaliated and through a well executed attack were able to come off with a capture of their own. In spite of the capture we set out to again dominate and due to superb teamwork we made an over-the-top capture for a 4-1 lead. With the end in sight we set out for the final capture and showed the Gunslingers our power with an impressive 5-1 win.

We the Winged Warriors had practiced this match type way too many times to count and imagined winning this game over and over in our heads. We started off getting the ball and running to the blue room with it trying to set up one of our strategies. We worked on getting weapons, but before we could get them the Gunslingers had gotten the ball. After a long fight in green room, we recovered the ball and took it to another one of our strategy points, where grenades rained down on our head and created tons of mayhem. After losing one more of our strategic points, we resorted to our old strategy and pulled out a lot more time. The Warriors worked through many lost strategic points, but we adapted to where we were at and were able to stop the Gunslingers dead in their tracks.

This game started out with a bang. With the Winged Warriors having a spawn fairly close to the hill that was placed right in the middle we took our strategy right to the Gunslingers and held the first hill for almost 2 minutes. But the rest of the game didn't come as easily for us. The Gunslingers kept us on our toes, forcing us to be on the attack for the majority of the game. The hill in the rocks being one of the toughest due in part to them spawning right next to it. So a quick change in positioning was needed to make them spawn elsewhere. Overall the kills of both teams were evenly matched (78 to 74). Because this was the first time the Winged Warriors have done a King of the Hill game in a clanmatch we were a little skeptical to how it would turn out, but our practice and execution on some very important hills gave us the win. Final score 5:00 to 4:22, Winged Warrior's win.

After almost recovering from a 2:00 deficit to start our Sanctuary Hill
game, and getting our first win of the night from the Gemini oddball
game, the Gunslingers were looking forward to our final game of the
night. Heading into the non practiced game of Slayer on Turf, we already
knew what to expect...brutal sniping, heavy teamwork, and too many well
placed grenades from the WW's. Slayer on Turf isn't a map we Gunslingers
play often, but we took it in stride. Immediately WW took control of the
street and snipe, leaving us to regain some ground towards the back of
the map. A few kills were traded, the score was fairly close. As the WW
team moved in towards us, they took the lead in kills, and began to play
play accordingly. This forced TTL to enter the heavily fortified areas
of the rooftops and combo roof of Turf. Slaying easily got out of hand,
and put the Gunslingers in state of urgance. With only a few minutes
left, desperation charges were made into the locked down areas in which
the Winged Warriors were holding up. A strong push cut the lead from 20+
to around 12, but simply was not enough. As time was running thin, the
TTL charges were slowly picked apart. With 2 minutes left, and a
stubborn WW holding their position. We decided to enjoy the finer parts
of the map, escorting some of our mates around in the non driver
friendly streets of Turf. Several stickies later we were down a few
blown up hogs, and 29 points.
This marked the end of good night of competitive gaming. The Gunslingers
formed a team together with a group of people who have rarely played
together. Given the stiff competition the Winged Warriors served up, we
are proud to have held our ground. The Winged Warriors are always
welcomed in Gunslingerland.
