Results against The Panic Attacks

   Ever since our disheartening loss to The Panic Attacks in April 2006, we have been looking to regain some of the pride we lost on that gloomy night.  This clanmatch would be the third out of 17 total clanmatches in which an MLG gametype would not be played.  The last time a completely non-MLG match occurred was in March 2006 versus the Clan of Bobs.  Both teams were ready for the match to begin.

  • This clanmatch started on Tuesday, December 5th at 10:20pm central time.
  • The total match duration including lobby time was 48 min.
  • There were a total of 4 games played in this match (2CTF, 2 Assault).
  • 8 players participated; 4 represented the Winged Warriors, 4 represented The Panic Attacks.

Game I: 1 Flag CTF on Ascension - Watch Your Head

   The game started and both teams made an all out rush for the power weapons.  Each team had control of one sniper, and we were on offense.  We attacked the TPA defense repeatedly but the superb sniping of HeadShot Hat kept us at bay for the round.  The next round began and we held off the Panic rush for the majority of the round, but a well executed attack late in the round allowed them to capture the flag.  We were on offense again and this time we would not be denied.  We made a quick well executed attack and with snipe cover from Pastemaster, MASbetty came away with the capture.  The final round began and it turned into an all out sniper war.  However, late in the round it seemed like every one of the Panic Attacks had a sniper rifle.  Because of this we could barely move a few feet resulting in The Panic Attacks taking the capture and the win in game one.

Game II: 1 Flag CTF on Terminal - Evenly Matched 

    The first round began and again we were on offense we made an all out rush, and through well executed attacks and opportune kills, MASbetty was able to make the capture.  The next round began and we set up a defensive wall and that wall stood strong as Panic attack after Panic attack was thwarted.  The third round began and this time we were denied at every turn and left scoreless in the round.  The final round began and The Panic was suppressed for the majority of the round, however a well executed rush in the last 30 seconds, turned The Panic Attacks one and only flag steal into a capture.

Game III: Assault on Terminal - Victory at Last 

   The game began and we were on offense.  We immediately rushed their base but our attack was stopped dead in its tracks by a waiting wraith.  However, through a never ending barrage of attacks we were able to suppress The Panic enough to allow bart 008 to plant the bomb.  The next round began and we were on the defensive side.  We again built a defensive wall, and held them scoreless for the round.  The next round began and this time our barrage of attacks was thwarted in every possible way, and we were subsequently held scoreless for the round.  The final round began and we knew we had to hold them to achieve our first victory in the clanmatch.  Again we set up our rock solid defense and again The Panic was suppressed.

Game IV: SWAT Assault on Turf - Panic Attack 

   With both teams having one win a piece, a win in this game would result in a victory for the clanmatch.  The game began and we were on offense.  We rushed, but to our dismay The Panic Attacks easily suppressed it.  The round continued and kills were traded back and forth.  Our lack of execution and the unusual position of enemies led to us being held scoreless.  The second round began and The Panic Attacks made an all out rush from the warehouse, but we halted their advance halfway to our base.  Again countless kills were traded, but well timed triple kills from TPA Fatality resulted in a Panic Attack arm and subsequent plant.  The third round began and this time we would not be denied.  With a well executed attack, and a killtacular by Pastemaster the game was tied at 1.  The final round began and we knew that a plant by The Panic Attacks would result in a loss.  We held the enemy for the majority of the round, but to our surprise a “Panic Attack” came over us resulting in the total destruction of our defense.  To our dismay we spawned too far to stop them from gaining the plant and winning the clanmatch.

Match Summary

   The Panic Attacks are a great bunch of guys and tested us in every game.  Even though the match was recorded as a loss, a tie could have been obtained if a fifth game was played, but to our dismay The Panic Attacks rejected the offer.  Despite the rejection we still look forward to meeting on the battlefield in the future. -Night Rider 7, Winged Warriors Overlord and Webmaster
