This would be the first of our remaining Halo 2 clan matches. On a side note, ever since our loss to H2O we never lost a match and we hoped to continue our win streak into and through Halo 3.
This game would be a change from our usual MLG play list, especially since we did not start with a battle rifle. With that said the game began and both teams rushed the hill. The Winged Warriors secured the coveted ring of light and quickly pulled out a lead. However, O7AH swarmed fast and furiously and the Warriors’ control was lost. The remainder of the game was a back and forth struggle, but unfortunately for the Warriors, O7AH’s hill control was just slightly stronger. This resulted in an O7AH victory 4min 44sec to 3min 52sec.
Slightly taken back by the loss in game one, the Warriors’ came out strong and immediately set out for map control. However, O7AH matched us bullet for bullet and both teams were in a stalemate. Then all at once utter chaos ensued. An all out war raged across the map with both teams exchanging captures, and as the clock reached sudden death the score was tied 4-4. Simmons2ptO made the grab and brought the flag to the top center of the map before being gunned down. With the game on the line, bart 008 made a daring rush for the flag and was able to toss it to Pastemaster who was waiting in the base. Luckily he was able to come away with the capture, thus giving the Winged Warriors the win in one of the closest and most intense games ever played.
From the start the game turned into an all out brawl for ball control, which strangely the majority of the BR and grenade battles took place in the bottom of the red base. The room was literally lit up with the glow of BR fire and plasma grenades. With that said, both teams struggled for the entire game to keep ball control, but in the end the Winged Warriors were victorious with a score of 4min 48sec to 2min 32sec.
With a victory in sight the Warriors quickly gained control of the map and chipped away at O7AH’s defensive wall. In terms of kills, the teams were evenly matched. However, the timing and teamwork of the Warriors allowed their flag runs to turn into captures. As a result the Winged Warriors took the victory in the game (3-1) as well as the clan match.
With the victory secured, the Warriors’ spirits were high going into the final game. From the start the Warriors set out for sniper, rocket, and banshee control, and were successful in controlling all of them. As a result the Winged Warriors were victorious by a margin of 22 kills.
The members of O7AH are a great bunch of talented players, and we would like to thank them for the fun and intense games. We hope to meet again in Halo 3.
