Winged Warriors Squabble with the Stunna Squad

Winged Warriors vs. Stunna Squad.

    This match was well played on both sides. At the end of the series some Warriors felt that The Stunna Squad rivaled many of the best clans we had faced in previous matches. But ass-kissing aside some minor problems occurred right out of the bag as both teams were trying to nail down their final roster before the start of the game. XXmrbenXX and WW Horizon showed up ready and waiting with Isnagov rounding out the veteran three, needing only a fourth to start xPLAYBOY entered his first competitive round as a Warrior.

Game I - Territories on Sandtrap

 

    Not much needs to be said about this match. The Warriors chose the gametype and the Stunna Squad came prepared. For the majority of the rounds both teams battled back and forth for territory supremacy. Then late in the fourth round the score was tied at six and the Warriors were on the offensive. In a last ditch effort, WW Horizon dove from his Banshee into the final territory and successfully secured it for the win.

Game II - Team Slayer on Valhalla

    Before the start of the second game, Pastemaster entered the lobby and replaced xPLAYBOY. After the exchange, the match was underway and the Winged Warriors were immediately caught off guard. They entered thinking of a normal give and take slayer game. What they found was a team that had practiced a very precise power weapon strategy. As soon as the Stunna Squad locked down their positions, they began to systematically push the Warriors back into their own base. For the entire game, the Warriors were hard-pressed for kills and the drought between sniper spawns gave rise to tense moments for the struggling Warriors. Near the end the Warriors conserved their lives and came very close to a victory. Unfortunately they were unable to stop the slow slaying system of the Stunna Squad.

Game III - WW Multi-Flag on Narrows

    Time after time Narrows is proving to be a much more complicated balance of offense and defense, and this game is a clear example. The Warriors struck first with genuine strength and followed with a frenetically paced game of back and forth flag rushes. Each team would constantly be feet from scoring only to have the flag ripped from their hands at the last moment. This continued for the majority of the match until late in the game both teams scored quickly. Unfortunately for the Warriors the Stunna Squad’s capture ended the game, and gave them a 2-1 lead in the clan match. It was a hard fought battle but in the end the balance issue proved deadly for the Warriors.

Game IV - Team Slayer on The Pit

   The game started off as a back and forth struggle for map control, however, by the halfway mark the map control was in the hands of the Warriors. Now in the drivers’ seat, the Warriors assumed the role of hunters and slowly picked off the shell shocked prey of the Stunna Squad. With a victory in game four the Warriors tied the series at two games a piece.

Game V - Team Slayer on Epitaph

   With the series all tied up, game five would decide the victor in the clan match. Going into the fifth game the Warriors knew they needed to win, so they banded together and used their teamwork to seal the victory in the game and the match. On a side note, WW Horizon should be commended on his 21 kills and +14 K/D ratio.

Summary

 This was one of those matches where the victory could have easily gone to either team. Each Slayer game was neck and neck with the gap in kills under 9. The Stunna Squad proved themselves to be hardcore slayers but in the end the Winged Warriors fought a little harder to come out on top.
