August Beatdown
August 26th, 2007
It is time once again to unleash the monthly beatdown. Unlike previous beatdowns this one will be on the light side in terms of news and updates to the site.

Now on a more serious note, Night Rider 7 overlord and webmaster announced his departure from the Winged Warriors on August 7th 2007. Even though he has departed from the Winged Warriors he is still available when we need him. I personally would like to take the time to thank Pieter (Night Rider 7) for everything he has done to bring the Winged Warriors from its creation to the present day, and also for handing the Winged Warriors over to myself so to continue its' presence in the Halo Community.
Recent Clan matches
The Winged Warriors and Second Foundation’s Riot Control had a clan match on August 17th 2007. We would like to thank them for the fun and exc
iting match. To view the results of the match, click here.

May Beatdown
June 5th, 2007
It is that time of the month again, and since an April Beatdown was not posted, this month’s Beatdown contains twice the amount of news, events and updates. So take your time and try not to tire yourself out.
First off, we would like to welcome Z3B to the Winged Warriors. He passed both stages of tryouts with flying colors and has earned the right to be called a Winged Warrior. His profile page will be online soon. If you would like to join the Winged Warriors we are currently accepting applications.
As of May 14 2007, Night Rider 7, our overlord and webmaster, took a leave of absence for the summer. He is on the leadership team at Shepherd’s Fold Ranch. In his absence Pastemaster will assume clan leadership, and WW Horizon will take over all of the webmaster duties during this time.
Team Phoenix and Team Pegasus Summer rosters will be as follows:
Calling All Hijackers: If you want the chance to hijack our front page, you can send your questions to wingedwarriors@wingrunner.net. We enjoy reading your questions, and want you to give you a shot to be featured on our front page.
Way back on April 17th the Winged Warriors held a Hide n’ Seek tournament on the two new maps, Tombstone and Desolation. Four rounds were played on each
map and there were two ways to rack up points: 5 points were awarded to players who hid well enough to survive the entire round, and one point was awarded for each kill as the juggernaut. We would like to thank the members of Second Foundation and Will Clan 4 Food for joining us in our first Hide n’ Seek tournament. A special congratulation goes out to Sigafoos of Second Foundation who took first place, Pastemaster came in second place and Night Rider 7 came in third place.
The Winged Warriors would like to take the time to formally apologize to the Power Rangers, The Dark Legion and The Panic Attacks for the huge delay in the posting of the clanmatch results.

The Winged Warriors' New Roster
April 29th, 2007
Our friends over at Second-Foundation.net have been giving us an incredibly hard time about our website's frequent updates and our changing roster. We usually delay our online roster to keep rookies who don't make the cut from humiliation and so that our fans don't get confused with who is really a part of the Winged Warriors. I'd like to announce that today - right now, our online roster is accurate and completely updated. Below is a list of the few and the new Winged Warriors. We're having growing pains with the new soldiers but that's nothing we didn't expect and we expect to get them up to speed quickly. We're also considering six additional players for acceptance into that clan but we don't have any official news on that just yet... if there is news it will be in May's beatdown.

Two New Maps & Hide n' Seek With The Best
April 12th, 2007
Two new maps will be available just days from now on April 17th. The Winged Warriors will be hosting their first official Hide and Go Seek Tournament which will take place on launch day at 10:00 pm central standard time. We will be hiding and seeking so we can break in the new maps with style. If you don't think there will be any fighting that night you don't know much about the Winged Warriors. Unfortunately we cannot host everyone so the tournament will be first come first serve unless we're holding a spot for you. Get your $4.00 ready so you can download the new maps and start studying the new screenshots, it won't help you anyway - I'm the Hide n' Go seek champion.

The Winged Warriors brings you the second Hijacking!
March 16th, 2007
All of our wonderful fans know we like to keep you guys informed. This relatively fresh feature we call "Hijacking" does just that. If you want to "Hijack" our front page, simply post your question here in our forum. This is your opportunity to steal the spotlight and ask us whatever you want.
Without further adue, we give you the latest.
Which one of Halo 3's new features are the WW most looking forward to, in terms of Communication, Teamwork, Maps, Weapons etc.?
- P2 the Ownage of the Clan of Bobs
Great question P2 the Ownage. Although we cannot guess with 100% certainty what will be in Halo 3, we can however use the information provided by Bungie Stuidos to make some educated guesses as to some of the new strategies that will be possible. One major thing we are looking forward to is the new "Call Sign" feature. From what we know, players will be able to assign one letter and two numbers to any player they want, and will show as that designated name regardless of team. We feel that this would add a strategic advantage because the other teams may not necessarily know each individual's sign, which could cause confusion in our competitive matches. Another feature that is highly anticipated is the new weapon, the Spartain Laser. We love the idea that we can apply the accuracy of a sniper rifle with the raw power of a rocket launcher. As many know, that weapon, combined with Pastemaster's stellar accuracy will be a definite asset in battle. Also, we are looking forward to a new head shot weapon, possibly an improved pistol which we can use as a secondary weapon to the Battle Rifle or the new Assault Rifle. We hope that the weapons system will be modified to change the damage works (ex. the closer you are to your target, the more damage you deal). We feel that this could add a new type of strategy where close combat is encouraged, thus possibly increasing the intensity of game play and the "fun factor" of games.

A Third Alliance
February 7th, 2007
We are proud to announce our latest diplomatic ally. We've had some really close matches with SBG Omega and after our rematch with them we started gaming together. We quickly realized that SBG was full of top quality slayers and that we would benefit tremendously from an alliance with this all Christian clan. They willingly offered to scrimmage, they share our values, they have excellent attitudes and on top of all that they bring a formidable force every time we play. SBG is our newest ally and we are proud to call them both allies and friends. We look forward to getting to know them better as they bring the carnage.

Introducing The Winged Warriors Hijackings... Don't kill the messenger!
February 3rd, 2007
The Winged Warriors are proud to introduce a new web site feature that debuts today called the Hijackings. As all of our wonderful fans know, we like to keep you guys informed; and this new feature will allow our fans, friends and anyone else to hijack our cover page with their questions. All you have to do is simply post your question here in our forum. This is your opportunity to hijack our front page and steal the spotlight and at the same time have your question answered by a member of the Winged Warriors. Without further ado, we're being held at gunpoint so we need to shut up for a second.
I'm a Marine who's been unable to be on Xbox Live for close to a year. I've just returned and have been extremely impressed with the goals and standards of the Praetoria Guard and all of her sister clans. I think what these groups do for the community is outstanding and definitely breathes a fresh feeling into the community that I hadn't seen when I was a member last year. I've recently returned and found out that almost all of my prior friends have moved on to things in their own lives and the struggle to find intelligent and mature players to game with is challenging. I've been pondering lately trying out for the clan (I'm playing like crap compared to my old skill but I don't doubt my ability to at least compete for the chance) and I've been wondering what your tryout regimen is like. is it 1v1 like most or is there a mixture of team elements to gauge the ability of your recruits to work in a team, or is there a mixture. I would appreciate any type of answer and any guidance so I can gear up for the possibility.
and thanks again for your contributions to the community.
- LCpl Freeman aka V0LUM3
Thank you for your inquiry to our clan Volum3 it's quite an honor that you take such an interest in us. First off, I want to address that we are not a sister clan to the Praetoria Guard. We are a brother clan, we're not full of girly men like PMG and BD. Anyway, on to the question at hand! Our tryouts first begin when you fill out an application on our web page. It asks many questions about your play style and how you work with others. After your application is thoroughly reviewed by the clan and is accepted you are put through the next part of the tryouts, which is playing with the Winged Warriors themselves and other people who want to be recruited. The tryouts will consist of a mix of free for all slayer games, team slayer games, and team objective games. In the tryouts you will be split up into a group and play with either Team Pegasus, or Team Phoenix who will grade you on how you play and what you do during the matches. And always remember during this time, we don't always care who wins. Well I hope that answers all your questions about the tryouts and applications, keep those questions coming!

SBG Omega Rematch
January 25th, 2007
Tonight the Winged Warriors will be facing off against familiar opponents on the virtual war front we call Xbox Live. After we had to cancel our Outcast Reborn clanmatch due to a lack of communication from them we wanted to fill this week's slot with another clan challenge. Because of the stipulation as to which clan won overall following our recent SBG clan match we realized that there was a need to settle the dispute. If you read the results you'll see that Team Pheonix soared over the competition and Team Pegasus suffered from acrophobia. While we simply recorded this as one win for Team Phoenix and one loss for Team Pegasus, members of SBG Omega contended that because their team won by a slightly larger margin than our winning team that they should be awarded the overall victory. How do the Winged Warriors solve problems like this? They hold the most comprehensive rematch of all time and put it all on the line. Tonight's clan match against SBG Omega will consist of both teams going head to head with their two competing four man teams for three games and the teams combining to play as a clan in two final big team battles that will be eight on eight. Tune in tomorrow to find out who will be triumphant in this fierce clan match.

The Winged Warriors' Celebrate Two Years Of Excellence In Competition
January 21st, 2007
The Winged Warriors have been a competitive clan at their heart from the beginning. When the clan was founded the only ideas behind it were to be better at the game and to have better sportsmanship. Now, two years, eighty-two official clan match games, and fifty-seven web site updates later the Winged Warriors have become one of the leading competitive clans in the gaming community. When we first started we were determined to become better in both practice and principle, and to elevate our standards above the mob. We have been doing it for two years and now, with the rest of the Halo 3 Webring and our forums, we will continue to do that as long as we exist.
Sincere thanks to everyone who has helped us get this far, there are too many to mention but we our part of our success to our supporters in the Halo community. Most of all thank you to the players who make up the Winged Warriors, you warriors are truely the blood of the clan and after this much time you've proven to the world that nothing can stop you when you put your hearts into something. Here's to another great and successful year of excellence in teamwork, communication, planning, and good sportsmanship!

January 14th, 2007
The results from our first ever "dual clan match" against SBG Omega are in. This Halo 2 clan match was host to sixteen players and a combined total of over three hours of gaming in what was both a memorable and enjoyable night with the two SBG Omega squads. Be sure to stop by the Battles page or simply jump to the clan match review courtesy of Team Phoenix's leader Pastemaster.
Last week, Second Foundation, home of The Riot Halo community podcast, announced the nominees for it's 2006 Halo Community Awards. The Winged Warriors were nominated for Most Active Competitive Clan (non-professional). Thanks to the community and the people over at Second Foundation for the nomination, we are honored. New Years' Beatdown
January 7th, 2007
Happy New Year and welcome to a whole new load of Winged Warriors news and events. This month the Winged Warriors will be meeting with several top-notch opponents for comprehensive clan matches, scrimmages and even some recreational fun. You'll also notice some changes are being made on the web site so keep checking back for the latest and greatest Winged Warriors updates.
First on the list is our inaugural clan match of 2007 against SBG Omega. This clan match is significant not only because of it's presence at the beginning of the year but it is also the first time the Winged Warriors will field both teams against the same clan on the same night. The clan match will be the most comprehensive in our clans history with two five game series being played simultaneously. This Winged Warriors Halo 2 clan match will take place on Tuesday January 9th at 10:30pm (Central Standard Time).
We have a rematch with the Clan of Bobs Power Rangers currently scheduled for this Friday night at 10:00pm Central Standard Time. This rematch has been planned for over three months and while we're looking forward to it we are trying not to get our hopes up too high. The Clan of Bobs Power Rangers currently only one player signed up. We love playing with the Clan of Bobs but we'll just have to see how this one goes.
Next on our chronological list of Winged Warriors Halo 2 events is a series of MLG scrimmages with the Red Team from Tied The Leader's Major League Gunslingers. The first is to take place on Thursday January 11th via Halo 2 on Xbox Live, with a follow up on Thursday the 18th of January. Times are still being worked out but we expect to play around 10:00pm CST if their schedule allows.
Another two team clan match is on the calendar for January 23rd against Outcast Reborn's Halo 2 division at 10:30pm Central Standard time. As in our clan match with SBG Omega that is set to take place on the 9th, both Team Phoenix and Team Pegasus are to match up against two of their four man squads. We look forward to this match up and we'll bring you more news and information as we get the details.
